It is more difficult to choose for your collection of orchids that is beginning them grow. While growing orchids is a feat of memory aided by experience and common sense, selection requires a long association with orchids and long evenings spent studying orchid catalogs. Here are a few that you can start.
Fragrant Orchids
Few people have made a hobby of fragrant plants. Most of us accept pleasant smells in plants as a matter course. As a hobby this field is wide open – and extensive. Its only drawback when fragrant orchids are concerned would be to find your home or irresistibly fragrant greenhouse gases – which is exactly what would happen, for many orchids are most powerful and lasting perfumes in the plant world. Their fragrances are heavy, unusual or exotic. They seem to fill the air in your rooms with the mysteries of the Far East or enchantments land flooded tropical sun.
Most comparisons perfume listed here are accurate, but some are not necessarily approximate. Some Perfumes are attractive in their ability to escape identification, and are subject to many interpretations as there are individuals who have encountered.

Decorative Foliage
In any garden, a background of foliage is necessary to give color between two flowering seasons. Unfortunately, the beautiful foliage is not often produced by the orchid. There is little that can be used as background when flowering plants. Fewer still whose foliage is in itself interesting. Other than some Cypripedium and Phalaenopsis, orchids have flowers foliage very good poor.
