What is the best way to sell old Magic cards?
I have alot of old Alpha, Beta and Unlimited Magic the Gathering Cards. Should I sell them on E-Bay? Take them to a local store? Should I sell them in lots or individually?
It is easier and probably most profitable using EBay, mainly because it is the way to reach the most potential buyers in a short amount of time. Unless you know of a collector who is willing to pay top notch for them, I’d certainly recommend EBay.
Make sure that you do a good EBay listing. Come up with a Title for your auction that uses the words people will likely search for if they are looking to buy your items. Ask yourself what you would type in the search box if you looked them up? Take photos of what you are selling, make certain that you explain the condition of each card, and list every item included on the auction. Set a relatively low starting price and consider setting a “Buy it Now” price for an amount you’d be happy with.
My final piece of advice is to search E-Bay for items like the ones you are selling. You’ll be able to get an idea of how much they sell for, how they are presented, and the titles people use to list them.
